Normal Butanol is a solvent used for paints, coatings, varnishes, fats, oils, waxes, rubber and plasticizers. It is also used for coating fabrics in the textile industry.

Butanol can be used a cleaning or polishing agent to create other chemicals such as gasoline, brake fluid and in consumer products such as make up, nail products, hygiene products and shaving products in the cosmetics industry.
