Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (MIBK) is a solvent in the manufacture of paints, rubbers, industrial cleaners and other chemicals.

MIBK is used as a chemical intermediate. It is used in the semiconductor industry. MIBK is very efficient at dissolving resins used in paints, inks, lacquers, varnishes and nitrocellulose.
